About Pet Caskets

"Faithful friend." “Longtime companion." “Loved one." Perfect Memorials understands that terms like these, commonly used to describe human relationships, are equally fitting when used to describe the special bond between humans and their pets. When a pet passes away, we want to give them the best place of rest possible. Pet caskets from Perfect Memorials are available in a range of sizes and styles to meet your needs.

Choosing a Pet Casket

When the time comes to choose among dog caskets, cat coffins, and burial containers for other types of pets, you'll want to consider several factors:

  • Do you need a casket or a burial urn?
  • Do you want a pet casket that is biodegradable?
  • What shape casket do you need?
  • What size casket do you need?

The answers to these questions will help you narrow down your options and choose the best pet coffin for your departed companion.

Casket or Urn?

Many people choose to have their pet cremated after death, but that doesn't mean that you cannot give them a meaningful burial. There are several types of pet burial urns available, including those shaped like hearts and ones in a traditional vase style. These urns are often biodegradable, meaning that they will breakdown over time after they are buried, letting your pet's remains return once again to the earth.

If your pet is not cremated, you'll likely want one of our affordable pet coffins for the remains. Pet caskets come in various shapes and sizes, from tiny caskets for fish and other small pets to large dog coffins that can hold a pet up to 21" long.

Biodegradable Pet Caskets

The Paw Pods biodegradable pet caskets from Perfect Memorials are made from bamboo and rice husks to minimize their environmental impact. To allow for natural decomposition, all natural dyes, glues, and sealants are using to form and seal each casket.

Each of these pet coffins includes a sympathy card and a leaf seeded with wild flowers. Simply plant the leaf with the pod and flowers will grow as a continual memorial to your pet.

Faithful Friend Pet Caskets

The Faithful Friend dog coffin is constructed of high-impact polystyrene plastic. The tongue-and-groove lid is sealed using a provided tape adhesive. For an extra-secure seal, some people choose to use a bit of silicone glue as well. Each one of these pet coffins features a white liner with lace trim, half-inch foam mattress, and pillow.

Faithful Friend pet caskets are suitable for in-ground burial only.

A Word About Pet Casket Sizes

Before selecting a cat or dog casket, measure your pet using the following guidelines:

  • Length – Distance from the pet's nose to base of the tail.
  • Width – Distance from the top of the back to the knee.
  • Height – When the pet is laying on their side, this will be the distance from the top side to bottom side of the pet.

To ensure a proper fit, we recommend that you choose a casket at least an inch or two larger than your pet's measurements; when in doubt, choose the next larger size.
